Formally known as The Aberfan Hotel, The Aberfan is under new ownership with its first ever privately owned keeper. The Aberfan is a family run pub hosting a range of facilities including disabled access throughout.
Over 130 years old, The Aberfan is ideally situated on the main road of Aberfan, close to the memorial garden of the Aberfan Disaster and minutes away from the Taff Trail linking Cardiff to Brecon. The Aberfan offers refreshing beverages, lively entertainment and a friendly atmosphere welcoming all.
Live Entertainment
The Aberfan is proud to host live music throughout the year. We welcome anyone to enjoy the bands' performances and a lively atmosphere. We recommend early attendance with popular bands to avoid disappointment.
Meals and Snacks
The Aberfan offers a range of meals and snacks available daily. Sandwiches and rolls are made fresh to order with a choice of fillings.
Quiz Night
A pub quiz is held every Wednesday night open to anyone who wants to play. Entry is 50p per person and is accompanied by a raffle and free buffet. All proceeds from the quizzes go to the Transplant Olympics.

The Aberfan Welcomes...
Charity Night with Ruth Benson Sunday 17th August, 5.30pm
The Aberfan is excited to host a charity night with live music from Ruth (formerly of The Spacecakes). During this night a presentation will be made to the Transplant Olymics organisers with a cheque for monies raised from all the quiz nights. We hope you can join us on this special night and show your support. We recommend that you arrive early to ensure admission as we have limited room and will refuse entry once capacity is reached. Entry costs £3 payable on the door.
